Our standard sized 23cm round plates are flat and have small raised rim. These compostable plates are sturdier in comparison to regular disposable plastic plates. These brown round plates have standard diameter and are multi-functional because they can be used for any occasion or dish. Our round plates are made from unbleached sugarcane fibres also known as bagasse. Sugarcane fibres make a excellent material because it makes the plates heat, grease and moisture resistant. The raw material is sourced from a natural resource and therefore 100% certified compostable.
Unbleached bagasse is the raw material that we use to manufacture these plates. That is why these plates have a brown colour. Bagasse is another name for sugarcane fibres and it is a natural renewable resource. With the production of sugar from sugarcane, after extracting the sugary juices from the canes, the leftover sugarcane is crushed and turned into a pulp-rich slurry. Then the slurry is injected into special moulding machines which create these round disposable plates. The plates are certified compostable under EN-13432 and are 100% compostable.
The plates are unsuited for printing because the bagasse is unsuitable as a printing surface.
