The 23cm round compostable plates are flat and have small raised rim. They are sturdier in comparison to regular plastic plates. The round disposable plates are multi-functional and can be used for any occasion or dish. Our round plates are made from sugarcane fibers. Sugarcane fibers is a great material because it makes the plates heat, grease and moisture resistant. They come from a natural resource and therefore 100% compostable.
Bagasse is the raw material that we use to manufacture these plates. Bagasse is the official term for sugarcane fibers and it is a natural renewable resource. With the production of sugarcane after exacting the sugary juices from the canes, the leftover sugarcane is crushed and turned into a pulp-rich slurry. This slurry is then injected into special moulding machines which create these round disposable plates.The plates are certified under EN-13432 and are 100% compostable.
The plates are unsuited for printing because the bagasse is unsuited as a printing surface.
