Our small 18cm round compostable plates have a flat surface and have small raised edge. They are sturdier than regular plastic plates. The round disposable plates can be used for a multitude of hot and cold dishes. Our customers use these plates for small dishes, cakes, pastries and breakfast. Our round plates are made from bagasse. Bagasse is a super material because it makes the plates heat, moisture and grease-resistant. Bagasse is a natural renewable resource and fully compostable.
Bagasse is the natural resource that we use for these plates. Bagasse is another word for sugarcane fibers and it is a renewable source. The sugar cane production is there to extract the sugar-rich juices from the canes. The crushed sugarcane is then turned into a pulp and made into slurry. The slurry is then fed into special moulding machines which manufacture these round plates. Because our bagasse plates are made from a natural resource the are certified compostable under EN-13432.
Our round plates cannot be printed because the bagasse is unsuited as a printing surface.
