Coffee cups
Our sustainable coffee cups are biodegradable and fully compostable. A special bioplastic coating made of corn starch is used for the paper cups.
Tableware and cutlery
The sustainable disposable tableware in our product range includes a wide selection of dishes, cutlery and bowls There is a choice of different materials, shapes and sizes.
Palm leaf tableware
Tableware made from fallen palm leaves is very sustainable and it gives the plates a natural look. It can be used for hot and cold dishes.
Takeaway
Our disposables for takeaway are available in various materials. Think of sugarcane, paper and bioplastic. These materials are all bio-based and bio-degradable. These so-called eco takeaway disposables therefore have no negative impact on our environment.
About Bio Futura
Bio Futura is an importer, wholesaler and webshop. We specialise in sustainable disposables and packaging. As a company we believe in sustainable entrepreneurship and the sustainability of biodegradable packaging. We supply our sustainable products to a wide variety of customers from the hospitality industry, restaurants, caterers, schools and event organisations and so on. We also welcome private consumers to our webshop.
Establishment
Bio Futura BV is a Dutch company which was founded by the owner Wouter Moekotte in 2008. Prior to setting up the company, Wouter worked and studied in the US, Canada, Belgium, Denmark and The Philippines. Moreover, he always aimed to combine his passion for sustainability with entrepreneurship.The company started with selling biodegradable bags which were then delivered by Wouter on his folding bike. Soon more products such as eco-friendly plates, cutlery and cups were added to complete the product range.
Products and environment
At present we offer more than 250 sustainable products, with the majority being certified according to the European composting norm EN-13432. We have also other certifications such as FSC® (C016391), PEFC (PEFC/30-32-858) and the Vinçotte OK Compost. Our products are sourced from Asia and Europe and we strive to source them from the countries where the natural raw-materials are produced. Ultimately, we encourage the replacement of oil plastics and pursue fair and sustainable trade.
