Our large round compostable plates are flat and have small raised rim. Because they are sturdier than regular plastic plates, you do not need to hand-out double plates. These bigger brown plates are perfect for larger hot or cold dishes and dinners. These brown plates are made from natural unbleached bagasse. This makes the plates heat, grease and moisture resistant while being 100% certified compostable.
Bagasse is the name of the raw material that we use the create these plates. Unbleached bagasse is natural renewable resource and is the official term for sugarcane fibres. These fibres are sourced from the production of sugar from sugarcane. After extracting the sugary juices from the sugarcane, the leftover sugarcane is crushed and mixed into a pulp. This pulp is then pumped into special moulding machines which create these round plates. The plates are 100% compostable and certified under EN-13432.
