'Restlos genießen' Campaign: German restaurants put 'food waste' on the menu!
Instead of discarding leftovers, why not enjoy them at a later time? The campaign against food waste 'Restlos genießen' (carefree enjoyment) encourages restaurant guests and event visitors to take their leftovers in a so-called ‘Beste-Reste-Box’, a folding carton with a practical handle, which is provided by Bio Futura. Nearly 250.000 Beste-Reste-Boxes are already successfully distributed to restaurants all over Germany.
The objective of this campaign is to raise public awareness and concern about food loss and waste among all stakeholders of the supply chain. 'Restlos genießen' is a joint initiative of Greentable, an information web portal for sustainable gastronomy services, and the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture as part of their other 'Zu gut für die Tonne' (Too Good for the Bin) campaign.
